Blues For Don is named in honor of the late Don Grolnick, a wonderful musician who moved effortlessly between the worlds of jazz (Steps Ahead, Michael Brecker) and pop (James Taylor), always finding the appropriate contribution to the music. It was composed during my graduate studies at Northern Illinois University, and special thanks have to go to Fareed for his suggestions regarding the arrangement you hear on this recording.
