Having played many different professional marimbas, the Adams compares very favourably. Good sustain, although not as much as i would like and a warm sound despite having Padauk bars as apposed to Rosewood. However the old saying does go, a good workman never blames his tools and i am sure that it is possible to get a better tone, i just havent quite found out how yet...

| The design is fantastic, and i have not been the most caring to the instrument. It has stood up to everything i can throw at it, from falling out of vans to being taken in a lift sideways. Fully height adjustable which is great for teaching and not a noise from any part of the frame. Breaks down into bits no longer than about 1.5m so very easy to load into a car.

| I have seem better looking instruments, but i have never found them to be quite as good musically. The artist series in the Adams range is much better.

| Well, to prove that i dont work for Adams, i have had a couple of wee problems. Firstly a couple of the notebars were out of tune with the rest of the instrument and i ended up having several different bars sent with the same problem. Not only that, but they took over a month each time. However, the dealer was very appologetic and chucked in a free set of mallets to compensate me.

| Very happy with the instrument, so happy in fact that i bought an Adams vibraphone the other week and have had several friends and students purchase Adams xylophones.
